  • The level required to play in the league is 2.5
  • It is the club pro's responsibility to confirm the caliber of play of each player
  • Any new player wanting to join the league must be evaluated by the Club Professional
  • The Committee (DNTC/CD) reserves the option to change the level of a player if it estimates that the player’s caliber is unsuitable to the level.

 Teams: 4 balanced teams

Balancing the teams:

Each club will organize sessions to balance their teams. For the success of the league, it is important that the matches will be challenging. So 2 weeks before the leagues starts, the teams must be balanced as follows:

Player No 1 of each team will be the highest ranked player

Player No 4 of each team will be the lowest ranked player

 Competition

 Time:

Each tie will take place Friday morning from 10:00am to 12:00am.

Each venue should designate two courts for competition for these times

Line-up:

  1. Each times a team of 4 players on 2 courts compete against another team of the same caliber.
  2. The line-up means the list of the players scheduled to compete. If a team presents 2 players, the opposing team will only submit two players
  3. When the line-up is written and complete and the match has started, no changes of players can be made even in the case of injury to a player or in her absence.

Scoring:

Two out of three sets (with advantage) are played. The team winning the match receives 1 point. If won in 2 sets, the team receives 3 points in the sets and if won in 3 sets the points are divided 2-1 or 1-2.

Default:

There are 2 loses by defaults when the entire team does not show up; the other team automatically wins 2 matches and 6 set points. If one of the teams has only 2 players, the second court is automatically lost by default. In every match won by default, the winning team gets 1 point for the match and 3 points for the sets. The scoresheet should include only the names of the players who played.

NOTE when a no-show is really a "did not arrive": The players who are registered on the score sheet and do not show up to play the match lose 0-6 0-6. This loss counts in the number of times played, meaning the Win % goes down for the losers who did not show. This is only for a situation where the players were expected and a team was waiting for them to show. Four names are on the sheet for said court which can be any court. For the winners, their Win % goes up.

NOTE: A team will be penalized in the match points’ column in the standings:

  • 2 points if the team is a no-show.

A 24-hour notice is required for cancellation of a match by a team. In the event of non-compliance with this rule, the defaulting team shall bear the costs of courts reserved. The Pro must call the club and contact Pro in charge of the opposing team. The defaulting team (or players) cannot resume play in the league until its share of the said costs is paid.
