In early May 2017, The Cougar Dome applied at Tennis Canada to become an official Tennis Development Center. We just received the very good news that our High Performance Tennis Academy has been accepted to become a Tennis Development Center in Truro. This is a key piece in our High Performance Tennis Strategy. This will lead to opening many doors regarding future development for Tennis in our community.

Following the fantastic news received by Tennis Canada, the Cougar Dome and our board have worked a plan that will change the game of tennis in our Community. The Cougar Dome High Performance Tennis Academy will provide the best services possible to their players insuring a full pathway for everyone who wants to improve their game. One of the pillar is the birth of the Tennis Study program that just started this September.

We are very thankful to the École Acadienne de Truro who was the first Elementary School to support this great initiative. This new partnership between Cougar Dome and the school allow the athletes to train 4 hours per week in the afternoon (Tuesday and Thursday). These Tennis athletes will also train 6 hours after school for a total of 10 hours per week...A game changer! A big thanks also for all the parents who are so supportive about this exciting new program.

Two other Elementary School are also offering scheduling accommodation for our athletes:

- Winding River Consolidated in Stewiacke
- Colchester Christian Academy
